Formats & SupportStructured Blogging supports microformats that are XML or xHTML based and can easily be converted between one and another. The goal is to start getting developers to build compelling end-user benefits and not keep discussing the subtle differences between the various technical solutions. For example: a movie review that was created by one end-user on a mobile phone and stored on their blog should be compatible with a search engine based suggestion engine or a public movie review server. Use existing microformats where possibleIt’s useful to think of Structured Blogging as an implementation of microformats. So if you are going to create a new Structured Blogging microcontent type – we recommend you use an existing microformat if possible. For example, the Structured Blogging toolset outputs reviews in the hReview format. Microformats Plugins & SupportThe plugins we offer enable the publishing of structured XHTML content, with microformats-compatible page tags and easily-parsed blocks of XML. They are also designed to transport microcontent in all types of XML feeds – e.g. RSS 2.0, Atom and RSS 1.0. The plugins also enable automatic conversion into RDF and (in future) OPML. Other tool plugins and support - including Xanga, LiveJournal and Drupal - are planned. We will also develop code libraries for PHP, Perl, Python, Java, Ruby and .Net.
